BJP seeks removal of Sam Pitroda in Odisha

The Bharatiya Jananta Party has sought the removal of Sam Pitroda as technical advisor to the Odisha Government. This demand was made in view of his alleged complicity in the National Herald property grabbing case. Sam Pitroda stands accused in the National Herald case along with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice – President Rahul Gandhi.

The BJP has alleged Sam Pitroda of acting as middleman between Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Congress president Sonia Gandhi. According to Samir Mohanty, the vice president of the state BJP, there exist an unholy nexus between the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the congress in the state which is not a sign for the state of Odisha. Mohanty also accused the ruling party BJD of using Congress as a prop for its survival.

BJP has also accused the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik of according the status of Cabinet Minister to Sam Pitroda. The saffron party, which is in the opposition also enquired about Pitroda’s performance and contribution to the development of the state as a technical advisor.

The BJP workers took to the street and staged demonstrations for the removal of Sam Pitroda, later on they also torched the effigy of Pitroda at Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar as a mark of protest.
