Azam Khan Samajwadi Party: Leader has caught on camera making disgusting comments while railing against his BJP rival Jaya Prada in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur constituency, Said today that he will not contest this elections, if anyone will prove that he named the actor-turned-politician when he said , “…the underwear beneath is of the “khakhi colour” .” 1st Information Report or FIR has been charged against him Azam Khan in Rampur for “insulting” the modesty of a woman.
The Commission strongly condemns such disparaging comments on the matter which is serious. He is required to provide a satisfactory explanation to the Commission on this matter,” NCW Under Secretary Barnali Shome said in their notice.
Chairperson Rekha Sharma National Commission for Women on Sunday termed Mr Khan’s below-the-belt remarks against the actor as “extremely disgraceful”.
Reacting to Mr Azam Khan’s alleged remarks, she has tweeted that the NCW would also be requesting the Election Commission to bar him from contesting elections.
Ms Sharma took cognizance of the fact and another tweet by user, who had uploaded a video of the SP leader”s purported jibe.
The video of Khan making the “abusive” remarks was doing rounds on various social media platforms.
The alleged remark NCW had took note of was: “I realized in seventeen days that the underwear beneath is of the “khaki” colour.
Azam Khan allegedly made the remarks his comments while addressing a polling campaign rally at Rampur, which goes to polls on April 23 along with a total of 115 constituencies across 15(Fifteen) states in the 3rd phase of the elections 2019.
